Welcome to UTLSC! (Version created for Hobby Weekend 2023 – no longer relevant)

Welcome to UTLSC!

UTLSC is a small friendly club based at Upper Tamar Lake, which is a South West Water Authority reservoir straddling the border between Devon and Cornwall, near Kilkhampton, north east of Bude.

The club organises regular dinghy racing on Sundays from March until mid-November, with races starting at midday and 2:30pm, with time for lunch and a chat in between.

On Wednesday afternoons during Summer and early Autumn, members often cruise at the lake, with practise sessions and less formal races.

A wide range of dinghies take part in the racing, including Lasers, Toppers, Solos and Bosuns.

We also organise a varied social programme including BBQs, walks, cycling, canoeing, croquet, skittles and so on.

Fancy Sailing? We are always happy to give you a taster session to find out if this is for you. If it is, we can help to co-ordinate a 2-day RYA course for you and others with the South West Lakes Trust.

Sailed before? Come and sail with us each week to practise/ refresh your skills with our experienced helms. Inexperienced (and experienced!) sailors are often welcome as crew in double-handed boats.

New members are always welcome and we help everyone to get involved quickly in club activities on and off the water.
