2025 Taster Sessions
You will be offered four one hour taster sessions In a UTLSC owned Bosun sailing dinghy with an experienced helm. Buoyancy aids, wet suits and changing facilities are available from South West Lakes Trust centre onsite at Upper Tamar Lake.
Personal insurance cover is provided within the cost of temporarily joining SWLT.
Boat insurance cover is provided within the cost of temporarily joining UTLSC.
The days available for having taster sessions, are Wednesday mornings and afternoons, Saturday mornings and afternoons and Sunday mornings.
The payment charges for the four sessions are broken down as follows: £10 temporary membership to SWLT for one month. £5 temporary membership to UTLSC for one month. £5 per session UTLSC boat hire. ( This also helps go towards our dinghy maintenace costs.)
The total charge of £35 is payable on the first Taster session day. Payment to SWLT can be either by card, or cash. Payment to UTLSC can be either cash, or by your phone banking app to the club’s bank account.
The Bosun dingy is a stable boat is able can carry three persons. Therefore it is possible to two friends or family members to be given a taster at the same time.
This will mean though that both people will need to have both SWLT and UTLSC temporary membership. There will however only be one charge for Bosun dinghy usage per taster session.
