Commodore 1
All three boats got off to a great start in the brisk easterly winds. Nathan Pollard (Aero 5) took the lead at the first mark followed by Brian Pollard and Tash Routley and Adam Hilton with Liam Routley in the two Bosuns. By the end of the first lap Nathan had extended his lead with the Pollard/Routley Bosun second and the other Bosun, with its smaller mainsail, bringing up the rear. With powerful gusts descending upon everyone the lap times for the Aero were roughly 13 minutes. Brian Pollard and Tash Routley had a gallant sail and came in second; the other Bosun had a few difficulties rounding Inlet buoy which delayed it.

Pursuit 4
Vicki Duncalf in her Topper set off first with Bob Sampson (Laser 4.7) 7 minutes later. Brian Pollard and Tash Routley (Bosun) started two minutes after that, and last speedy Nathan Pollard (Aero 5), fifteen minutes after the Topper so with quite a chase to finish in front.
After lap 1 Vicki Duncalf was well ahead of Bob Sampson and managing the brisk winds very ably. By the end of lap 2, however, the Laser was only a few metres behind; the Bosun was keeping a steady pace and Nathan Pollard was streaking across the water, determined to catch up.
By the middle of lap 3 Bob Sampson had overtaken Vicki Duncalf while Nathan Pollard headed the Bosun and the Topper but still at the finish Bob Sampson was in front!
